bookkeeping · automation · ai
I'm Danielle. I keep clean books in QuickBooks Online — and when a firm is running on spreadsheets and sticky notes, I build the software to replace them. AI is how I build fast. Knowing the books is how I know what's worth building.
what I actually do
Bookkeeping is half judgment and half data-wrangling. The judgment I'm trained for. The data-wrangling I'd rather automate — so I taught myself to build software, and AI is what makes that practical for one person. So far that's meant moving a company's entire bookkeeping out of QuickBooks into a plain-text ledger I can version-control like code, and building a system that turns a forensics firm's inspection notes into finished, consistent reports. At an accounting firm, the same instinct shows up smaller and more often: the monthly report that's assembled by hand could assemble itself.

Moved a yacht-charter client's full set of books out of QuickBooks Online into Beancount: a version-controlled, business-only chart of accounts. Auditable, durable, and not tied to any one platform's subscription.
Built a tool for a forensics firm that turns raw inspection notes and case files into finished, consistently formatted reports — drafting and editing handled with AI, the firm's standards built in so every report comes out right.
A working web application and a live client website with a real contact form — built with AI, deployed, and handed over. Proof that "I'll build you the tool" isn't hypothetical.
where next level consulting comes from
Next Level Consulting started as my parents' business and IT consulting firm. I run it now — the same work they did, figuring out how a business actually operates and making it run better, with the tools available today.
I'm based in Portland, Oregon, and work remotely with firms anywhere. I'm equally at home in a chart of accounts and a codebase, which is a sentence I didn't expect to be writing a couple of years ago.
